Hi,

I have created a cylinder in EDEM and I want to add a particle in the middle of the cylinder instead of placing a particle in a random position. Therefore, how do I specify the position of a particle in the particle factory?

Many thanks in advance for your help!

Chao

    Hi Chao,

You can define the creation position of your particles in the factory settings in the creator. You first need to select a lattice settings between Cubic, BCC and FCC from the drop down menu shown below.

    image

Then define the settings of your lattice by clicking on the settings wheel. If you want to visualize your lattice to make easier how you are setting it up you can click on the top toolbar View > Activate Factories:Display Lattice.

Further information on each lattice type can be found in the documentation. I hope that this helps.

    Kind regards

    Ignacio

    Hi Chao,

In the factory instead of Random option try to define BCC , FCC so that particle can be created as per the necessary position which is specified with BCC or FCC.

    Hi,Ignacio Diez Alonso

When i setting the particle positions with the fcc,it seems that i should setting these config. But i dont clearly know what the parameter means? Is there any detailed information about the parameter. i search some Altair Help.FCC lattice means that Particles are created in a face-centered cubic lattice. It is defined in the same way as a cubic lattice. So i'm confused about the how to setting the cubic lattice.

    Thanks,
