Hi,

I am recently looking into EDEM API of the heat conduction contact model.

I noted there is a heat conduction API code that can set the geometry as heat source (HeatConductionForGeometry_29July2014.zip), the link is: https://community.altair.com/community?id=kb_article&sys_id=0fadbd1edb3cc590cfd5f6a4e29619cf

However, when I opened and looked through the source code, I found that the code cannot use for surface-geometry contacts.

Therefore, I was wondering whether this source can be used to set geometry as a heat source to model the geometry and particles contacting.

Kind regards,

Chao

    Hi,

Yes, it can. That if block is for the particle-particle contacts but if you go to the else condition (line 411) that is the block that considers the particle-geometry contacts, where geometry temperature and thermal conductivity are considered.
