Which Type of meshing is preferred for Vibration Analysis ? - Tria or Quad

I searched regarding this many of my seniors answered it as Tria is preferred for Vibration and Quad or mixed is preferred for Crash Analysis. I searched regarding this, I couldn't end up with exact answers. Anyone help me with this ? Could any one suggest me the reasons.

    Hi

I do not know what solution are using for the FEA , or what type of elements formulation you have available, but in general 3node tria is stiffer compared to 4 nodes quad elements.

For vibration or any type of mechanical analysis that mass/stiffness relation is a key factor the mesh flexibility affects the result (e.g. modal , crash, buckling).

For this case predominantly quad mesh element is preferred, and If resources permit a mesh convergence study may also help you define the mesh density for your case.

    I hope this is helpful.
