Iam performing riveted joint structural analysis for gravity load cases and random vibrations, shock(Transient modal) Analysis.i have modeled structure with shell elements and fasteners(rivets) with 1d beam elements. for static load cases i have requested ELFORCE for extraction of shear and axial stresses. from this i have calculated my evaluation criteria for rivets.while performing random vibrations similarly i requested ELFORCE in global output request.it was given shear stress and axial stress for given frequencies in input data. unable to get RMS stress directly over entire frequencies. similarly for shock analysis unable to get force file format.from these i have few doubts. modeling of fastener is required in structural joint analysis.connecting sheets are weaker than rivets? how can i conclude for random vibration and shock Analysis.

You should be able to get RMS values out directly. Please try the following on the ELFORCE request...

Also, it might also make sense to limit the output to the 1D elements you are interested in... i believe the output file will get VERY large especially if the frequency range is large.

Thankyou for your answer. but, iam unable to get rms stress on 1d beam elements.
