Hi,

I was exploring the Blocks available in Activate and came accross a block called "Volume".  I read its description given in their website and couldn't figureout what exactly it does. Can anyone help me understand about this in simple terms and its place of useage.

    Hi Bhuvana Siva Teja,

Volume represents the capacity of a hydraulic volume. Capacity is defined by volume / bulk modulus of fluid. The size of volume is defined by the volume between all connected components e. g. in a tube or mounting block.

The component is necessary to calculate the pressure changes in the system. Note, that most of the components contain a dead volume which is added to the volume, resp. the dead volume can replace a volume component.

    Hi RoKet,

So, if i use volume at any branch point, it will help me approximate the pressure different in detailed right? Bcoz after using it, i am able to see the graph of pressure oscillating to reach a steady state at pressure relief valve.

Pressure oscillation depends also on other things (you need an additional inductivity, e. g. pipe), but in principle you are right.
