1D and 2D model

Hello:

 

I want to simulate a bus structure, considering not only the structure but also the shell. I have modeled the chassis with 1D elements (beams), and the bodywork with 2D elements (shells). I want to know how I could model the connection between 1D and 2D elements in my model. Thanks in advance.

What Altair Solution are you using to solve your model.

If Radioss,  a simple way is to use /INTER/TYPE2 to tie the nodes of the beams to the shell.
