Hello

I would like to know if Psim supports TI's new processor F28286 for code generation and simulation.

Thank you

Gurjinder

    Hi, Gurjinder,

The next release PSIM2022.3 will include PSIM-Embed Wrapper for DSP Code Generation.

PSIM-Embed Wrapper generates a DLL block for controller implementations inside PSIM and export it to Embed so that user can generate target code for any DSP/Micro devices that Embed supports.

Altair Embed supports all Texas Instruments C2000, MSP430, and ARM CortexM3.

Sorry the current version PSIM2022.2 and older do not support F28386.

    Hello Rhonda

    Thank you for your reply

I am currently using simcoder for code generation and an F2837x processor.

with the new update will simcoder support F28386?

    Thank you

    Hi, Gurjinder,

With the new update, the SimCoder still does not support F2838x.

Because Embed already support many targets, it is pointless to repeat the same work in SimCoder.

You can use PSIM to generate DLL, and export it to Embed to generate code for your target.

    Rhonda

Do you know when 2022.3 will be released and do I need to pay separately for Embed or will it be included in the update?

and do you know if Simcoder is going to discontinue?

    Thank you

The exact date for PSIM2022.3 release is unknown. It should be soon.

Whether you need to pay for Embed depends on your Altair license. Sorry I don't know the answer.

    SimCoder will not discontinue.

It has advantages other code generation software don't. It was developed for electrical engineers who have limited firmware background. It helps those engineers to design an algorithm for system control quickly without diving deep into the firmware details.
