SolidThinking Evolve and Altair Inspire Studio will not be supported on Mac OS Big Sur at the moment.
Apple has dropped OpenGL support in the final release of Big Sur and this is critical for our programs to function. We tested our programs on Big Sur Beta and there were not dependency issues. OpenGL support was still part of the package and everything worked fine. I will post an update as soon as I hear back from development.

Does this mean that there will be no development on the Mac version for now?
This would be unfortunate. I am quite sure that I am not the only one who has been a happy SolidThinking and Evolve and now Inspire Studio user partly because you have had Mac version. New Macs with Apple chips seem to be very power efficient and powerful. It makes no sense to abandon MacOS now. What does your roadmap look like for Studio?

Same here...I am on my 10th year on Solidthinking/Inspire Studio and every day I am very precautious not to click yes to upgrading my system due to Inspire Studio - that I love by the way.

Hi guys, just to clarify in case it is still needed, Evolve will never support Big Sur and any future Mac Os, but it will stil work on older ones. Inspire Studio instead already supports Big Sur.

Hi guys, I've always used Evolve in the past. It was discontinued, so I am now working with Inspire Studio. I bought a new computer - a new Mac Pro (2019) with Mac OS Monterey 12.0.1, and it comes with an AMD Graphics Card (which I plan to upgrade). Inspire Studio works part of the time but I'm having a lot of issues with the program crashing and not working correctly (my models tend to get off kilter, etc) - it's overall very glitchy. I've done some research and have been told the AMD Graphics Card is not compatible, and that I should install Nvidia but it sounds like there are also quite a few issues with that idea (since Nvidia is designed for PCs). Others have told me to definitely not install Nvidia because of the problems it will bring me. I'm at a loss as to what to do and would appreciate any advice or input. I know most of you work on PCs but thought I would reach out. Thanks!

Hi Damien,
That amount of crashes sounds quite strange to me.
I would start checking if you are using the latest version of Inspire Studio 2021.2.1
If not, please update it as first thing.Antonio
