Hi,

I recently upgraded my hardware to a dual AMD Epyc 7313 so 32 cores and 64 threads. The Altair licencing states that an additional CPU should take another 5 tokens on top of the HW licence which is 30 tokens. I have 50 in total, but keep getting the below error and my tokens checked out remains at 21 of 50. Any ideas what these error codes mean?

    Hi Casper,

The unit draw for OptiStruct is based on the number of cores you are using and not the number of CPU's you have. Here is a table for reference. If you run -ncore 64, you would be requesting for more units than you have available, and put you over the number of available units you have.

Additionally, the Altair Licensing is per user per machine. Meaning if you are running HM from one laptop and running the solver from another, it would also stack (add) the units and not level it, which would also take you over the available units you have.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Chayan,

It used to be 5 unit per additional core, when did it change to this?

    Per additional CPU I mean.

    Hi Casper,

AFAIK this has been the way for quite some time now (I checked back to version 17).
