Why do I use the bonding model and set the Normal/Shear Strength too high, which makes it easy to explode?

Shouldn't it be harder to explode as it gets bigger?image

    Hi,

As the strength is increasing the forces will also be higher before the bonds break.  Typically higher forces require smaller time-steps to be stable.

I'd recommend decreasing the EDEM time-step in this case. You could create a small test case with the same material properties and forces to check time-step stability.
