Working around OS limitation: inability to request tension forces for preloaded bolts in transient loadcase

Dear All,

Recently I figured out that currently OptiStruct does not allow to request for tension forces in preloaded bolts in a linear transient analysis. It is impossible to request for either PRETBOLT or GPFORCE/ SPCFORCE .
I'm quite surprised that OS has this limitation.
The application is very common in Mechanical Engineering - Any bolted assembly which undergoes transient input (like shock) requires the engineer to evaluate the margin of safety via the bolt tension force. It can't get any more basic than this..
Am I the only one who tries to solve such a case in OptiStruct?
How do you cope with this severe limitation?
