Dear Team,
Can you help us with any examples of following
1. Any recommendation steps to derive the Lamina allowable from tested Quasi isotropic Laminate?
2. Any recommendation steps to get Lamina properties with knowing the fibre type and resin system used?
3. Can we get the .fem of the open hole test from Multiscale output so that FEM file can simulated with Optistruct.

Hi,
1 and 2 are exacty what you can get from MDS. The product maual gives you some major steps on performing this. Also, there are these webinars showing more details on what MDS can do, specially #4

for 3. i'm pretty sure MDS generates a .fem file for these Simulations created by MDS in the study folder.
for 1) you need to create your quasi isotropic laminate in MDS, and perform some Inverse Characterization in order to get accurate fiber and resin properties. Once you have these characterized, then you build your new lamina, and by performing direct homogenization you can calculate your virtual allowables.
for 2) is the basic process of MDS, called Direct Homogenization. You enter the fiber and resin properties, define unit cell, perform a direct homogenization to create your reduced order model. Then, you do the same for your NL material properties. Once you have these in place, youcan build your coupon tests inside MDS or use OptiStruct and combine the reduced order model with it.

I am a newbie on this topic. I am reading the Manual on your recommendation and building the Unit cell based on Fibre and Matrix .
Please help me if you have any example worked out on inverse characterization.
