Effect of AUTOSPC. In what scenarios does AUTOSPC make a difference?
I have experimented with different suspension models with & without AUTOSPC command called and there is no difference in the output results. About 30 SPCs have been added to the system where some of the 1D elements connect to three-dimensional mesh, with 3 degrees of freedom locked out for each, but it’s not made a difference to the result.
What modelling scenarios does AUTOSPC have an affect on the results, and what changes?
An example of a modelling scenario where AUTOSPC changed the results would be very helpful.
Thanks

Hi John Duff,
Usually when you have N2S contact in your model and you have solid elements used for those contacts it is required to have AUTOSPC=YES, Else you may get error saying that
*** ERROR # 2133 ***
There are d.o.f.s that must be constrained,This is because of the internally created CGAP elements for N2S contact.
In this scenario it is advised to use AUTOSPC.
Thanks...

So you are saying do not use AUTOSPC normally, only use if experience model run errors such as error 2133?
Thanks

Yes, Do not use AUTOSPC unless it is required.
