How to ensure to solids have shared surface

I have two enclosed surface components with a shared surface. If I want to genterate two solids for the components.

Questions:

1. Do I need to have duplicated shared surface in each component or just one shared surface for both?

2. If I have to equivalence the shared surface with duplicated copy in each component, how can I make sure the equivalenced shared surface is the same for both component?

You want 1 shared surface. Surfaces from both solids to be should be connected to the shared surface so you want the edges of the shared surface to appear as t connections or be yellow in topology view.

In that case, if I want to generate solids, shall I generate them together or generate one by one?

I have a problem that: Let's say I have component A and B with surfaces. All the edge in A look green (by eyeballing). But when I tried to generate solid of A, I got solid of B. If I deleted B, it said that no closed volume is found in A. I suppose if all the edges are green, the surfaces should form an enclosed volume, right?

When I tried to generate solid, there is some red dot shown up on two of the green edges.

Since there are no yellow lines or surfaces that I can see it looks like each one is separate. This suggests that you have overlapping geometry. Suggesting there are 2 surfaces in between solids and not one. The red dot may suggest a problem with the surface/solid next in line, if there is one, and not the one shown. I would probably try and select and hide surface by attached to see if I can find a free edge. or turn off the coloring of edges except for free edges to try and find the issue because this does suggest that there is an unclosed volume somewhere.
