Internal Programming Error during Free Shape Optimization

Hello all,

I've been trying to run a free shape optimization on an Axisymmetric part (meaning - axisymmetric modelling with CTAXI and CQAXI's).

I can run the "analysis only" without any problems, but when I try to fire up the optimization run, I get the following error:

*** INTERNAL PROGRAMMING ERROR ***
in file "findex.F", at location # 204.

ioerr(1) = 3
ioerr(2) = 0
ioerr(3) = 1
ioerr(4) = 11
**** ABORTING RUN DUE TO AN INTERNAL ERROR ****

I'm wondering if the axisymmetric modelling and free shape optimization are not compatible?

Optistruct version is 2019.

I'm also attaching the *.out and *.stat files

Thanks!

    Hi AlperK,

I did check and free shape optimization is not currently supported with axisymmetric modelling.  However, you may use a standard shape optimization setup with axisymmetric modeling (using shapes and design variables).

    Thanks,

    Rob H.
