Dear All,

I want to start optistruct in a shell. I get following licence-error-message:

THE FOLLOWING ERROR MESSAGE WAS RETRIEVED FROM THE LICENSE SERVER
 Feature: HyperWorksEDU
Error Code: 9
Error Description:
[NETWORK] 6200@altair1.rd.corpintra.net - (Err: 9) Feature not found

License Path: C:\apps\Altair\2021.2\Inspire2021.2.2\hwx\bin\win64\\security\altair_lic.dat;6200@altair1.rd.corpintra.net;C:\apps\Altair\2021.2\Inspire2021.2.2\hwx\bin\win64\/security/altair_lic.dat

  No Available License

Inspire is already installed and the program is working.

Do I need a special license for starting optistruct in a shell?

Thanks forward for any support.  :-)

Regards from Hamburg

    Is this a student edition?

I'm not quite sure if the student edition can be launch in batch as you're trying. (if this is the student edition).

But usually when submitting an OptiStruct job, you need to use 'optistruct.bat' found in the installation folder, as it also calls 'radflex' which setups licensing.

    Hello,

Could try with a more recent version of OptiStruct as 2021.2 is not returning the full error message?

Also please note that OptiStruct started from shell will follow HPC licensing rules, so if you are starting an optimization run this way you will need 50 units free as it will be stacking, versus starting from Inspire is "free" for the first run as it will be 15 units leveling with the Inspire session.

Also the features needed are not the same, from Inspire it will use HWInspireOptistructSolver, from shell it will use HWOptiStruct. Please check that you have access to that feature as it is not included in all suites.

    Thanks,
