Could not open .dem file when saving EDEM project

I'm going through the conveyor tutorial, but once I save the file after creating the particle factories, I get two error messages:

"Could not open file .... Conveyor_Tutorial.dem."

"H5Fopen failed"

How do I troubleshoot this>

    Hi Sophia,

It sounds like the simulation file maybe corrupt.  It can happen if you open in different versions of the software or could be caused if the saving on the disk was interrupted.

One action you can try is to open EDEM and go to the Analyst.  In the Analyst if you use file > open this opens the first time-step rather than the last which may be OK.

Also you only need the EDEM filename.dem and filename_data folder.  There are also associated files such as the filename.dfg, you can delete or rename all files except the .dem and the _data folder and try opening again, this resets the simulator and analyst settings but retains the Creator data.

    Regards
