Radioss - Bearing Analysis
I'm new in this forum and I would appreciate some help about some topics related to an explicit analysis of a bearing. I want to analyze the behavior of a complete shaft from a gearbox to different failures for my Master’s degree project, mainly related to the frequency behavior.
First, I want to check that the model is correct, so I want to analyze only one of the three bearings without any failure, to check the natural frequency with the one given by the manufacturer. I follow more or less the strategy shown in one topic of this forum (

- I have included a contact type 24 for each Rolling cilynder with each ring (total 28) using separated contact surfaces, and one additional contact between all the Rolling cylinders and the cage, same type.
- The contact type 24 is defined by the next parameters:
o Istf: 3
o Igap0: 1
o Fric: 0.05
o Inacti: -1
o Ifric: 1
- I have included a Cload to the inner ring by a rigid element (Z direction) and also the rotating velocity in rad/s (using the center of the Rbody), implementing both together.
- The constraints are the external surface elements of the bearing and I have included also a constraint for the center of the Rbody in the movement direction of the rotation (Tx), to avoid that the inner ring could move in this direction.
The results have no sense for me, because the stress, contact and reaction forces shall be located mainly on the upper area of the bearing (force in +Z direction) and they are turning with the movement of the inner ring.
I have made some checks and I had no initial penetrations (penetration check), and intersections between all the rollers and the outer ring and the cage. Could be this one of the problem?
Thank you.

Hi,
I am working on this model. I will surely contact you once I get an idea about your query.
