Overestimation of stiffness of porous structures

Hi,

I am trying to find the stiffness of porous structures in SimSolid and compare it with the FEA method. For smaller models, values by both methods are quite close. However, in a larger model, the stiffness value by SimSolid is much higher; more than 2 times compared to FEA results. Please see the screenshot of the solution parameters that I am using as well as the model info. Could it be the limitation of model size/complexity in SimSolid? or do I need to change any parameters?

Thanks for your help.

Regards,

Mudassar

Can you try to create a local group for the lattice and give it high refinement level and also check adapt to thin solids?

I have tried this method. The stiffness value reduced slightly but is still very high. Any other way to fix that?

Can you please create a ticket for support and attach the model to investigate?

Ok, will do that. Thank you.
