Unable to install HW

Hi everyone,

I tried to install Hyperworks Student edition after downloading the 'edu2022_win64.exe' which is using 'InstallAnywhere'. InstallAnywhere starts and finishes until the loading bar reaches 100%. After that it is closed suddenly and nothing is continued. As a summary, I couldn't install the HW successfully. My machine's OS is win 10. I suspected from Java and compatibility. I uninstall and reinstall Java. Also, I made the installer exe compatible with older versions of windows and run it as admin. But none of them solved that issue.

I'll be glad if you find a solution for it

    HI

This is likely because the executable/s was corrupted on download, and hence you will need to completely uninstall the software and redownload the executables, and It is important first to try deleting the downloaded file and downloading it again and then install again.

If you still face issues, to make sure the file is not damaged on download, run an md5 checksum on the downloaded file (google md5 checksum):

    1. Double click / run the Winmd5 checksum executable (download win md5 a freeware from the internet, please note we cannot be responsible for external content and info)
    1. Select the executable by clicking on the Browse button or drag and drop the file into the window

After running the MD5 checksum on your computer, kindly see if your MD5 checksum value matches the one here: cfbae69055c2710cf0dd66f23ec21cab

    Hello,

Same problem here, after having my student license and downloading the installation file "AltairInspire2022.3_win64", I launch this file and a window appears: "preparing installation" which goes to 0% to 100% then, this window disappears and nothing more happen.

I have already tried several tips which were found in this forum without sucess, for example:

    • I try to download several times the installation file.
    • I try to add a system variable: JAVA_TOOL_OPTIONS="-Dos.name=Windows 10" (link)
    • I try to re-install java
    • I tried to go to TEMP file when I found several files. I launched the file "Windows_Pure_64_Bit/AltairInspire2022.3_win64.exe" but an error windows appear: "Window error 2 produced loading the Java VM".

    My system:

    • Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS with Radeon Graphics   3.20 GHz
    • RAM:     16,0 GB (13,7 GB usable)
    • 64-bit operative system, x64 based processor
    • Windows 11 Home 22H2 - 22621.2428
      Feature Experience Pack 1000.22674.1000.0

I hope you can help me to solve this issue,

    Thank you

I forgot to write that this is the MD5 checksum of the installer file which has been calculated using this webpage

    d461a0d8245d46264c7c72c6413705e0

It is different from the previous one, but it is a different version too.

    Dear Payal Pawar,

Thank you for your answer. I followed your steps but the result has been the same than before.

1- Program cannot be unistall because it has not been installed. But, I have deleted the Windows TEMP folder and I have run the Window Registry Editor in order to delete any sing of "Altair" and "Inspire".

2- I have asked for a new license in the webpage writing the same MAC than the first time. There is no other one to choose (attached picture: green was the chosen one. First ones are "virtual adapters" and the last one is for Bluetooth).

3- Installer file was downloaded following the link that has arrived to my email and I have executed it. And again, the same process than always: "Preparing installation" window appears and when it arrives to 100%, it disappears. No more installation windows appear....

4- I reboot my computer and I repeated the 3- step one more time (just in case.....) but the result was the same.

So, I am not able to install Altair Inspire in my computer :(

I think there is no problem with the license but with installation file, because the installation process does not finish.

(I am sorry because the screenshots are in Spanish, but I think they will be useful)

Thank you very much for you help!

    Hi,

Please check the system requirements here - https://2022.help.altair.com/2022/hwdesktop/altair_help/topics/getting_started/hw_recommendation_certifications_intro_r.htm#reference_b5n_53c_d1b

I have sent you alternate download links via email just now. Please uninstall the previously installed files and try to install the software from the link that I mailed you.

Note: Make sure that you are not using VPN while using/downloading the software.

The Altair Student Edition license is a node-locked license – a license that will work only on one machine whose Ethernet ID was entered while requesting.

    Hi,

    Thank you for your answer.

I download the file which you send to my email, and I executed it but the behaviour has been the same: Once the preparing window arrives to 100%, it disappears and nothing more happen.

My laptop is a Lenovo Ideapad Pro 5. And it does not appear in this list, so, maybe your software is not compatible with it, and I won't be able to install it.

    Hi,

Since you are experiencing issues with the installation of the student edition of Inspire software, I would recommend trying to install the personal edition of Inspire to see if it works with your system.

Request for the Inspire Personal Edition here - https://web.altair.com/inspire-personal-edition

I search a lot about this problem and I The problem here is the installation program does not find the java.exe file.

I solve it executing the installation file from cmd with the following command:

    AltairInspire2022.3_win64.exe LAX_VM "C:\Program Files\Java\jre-1.8\bin\java.exe"

Using it, the installation of Inspire continues after the "preparing window". But it has not finished without errors. Please, finde here the log file.

I am not able to open the program after placing the license.dat file in security folder in "C:\Program Files\Altair\2022.3\security"

I have tried to install it in other computer, this time: Asus Vivobook: Ryzen 5 (5000 series) with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050, also with Windows 11 recently updated, but the behaviour has been the same: once the preparing installation windows arrives to 100% it disappears and nothing more happen.

I really need this program in my master degree. But I am not able to install it (even changing the computer).

Please, ¿there is no solution for this behaviour?

Thank you very much for your time.

    Hi,

Since you are installing the software on a new computer, you will need a new license file for the new Ethernet ID.

Please request for the student edition license for the other computer again here https://studentedition.altair.com/ with the correct Ethernet ID.

You can also watch this video on the process if needed - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lp3zAFPRFlI

License is useful for activating the program, for using the program. And it will be needed once Altair is installed. But, my problem is Altair cannot be installed.

In any way, I have already requested for a new license, I have already downloaded (again) the installer file, I have tried the new file. But it still does not work :(

    Hi,

You must use an alternative / better internet connection and provider for example to ensure downloads happen fully and correctly.

Sufficient disk space for install: Installing the package requires more than 10GB of disk space. The temp space used by the installer will be freed after successful completion of an installation.

Make sure you have full permissions and rights in the location you are installing.

    Hi,

It is possible that the executable/s was corrupted on download and hence you will need to completely uninstall the software and redownload the executables. It is important to first try deleting the downloaded file and downloading it again.

If you still face issues, to make sure the file is not damaged on download, run an md5 checksum on the downloaded file (just google md5 checksum):

    1. Double click/run the Winmd5 checksum executable (download win md5 a freeware from the internet, please note we cannot be responsible for external content and info)
    2. Select the executable by clicking on the browse button or drag and drop the file into the window
    3. After running the MD5 checksum on your computer, kindly see if your MD5 checksum value matches the original one.

Refer to this article to find the original MD5 checksum value -
