Dear all,

I got my student license to install Flux 2D on my laptop almost a year ago. I removed such a software from my computer a couple of months ago, now I need it again.

The installation process was fine, but while opening one of my old projects (created a year ago with the same software) the following notification displays.

Can you please help me to fix this?

Best regards,

MB

    Do you check the license file?

    you should have your license, named 'altair_lic.dat' in the folder pointed by the message (security folder).

    By the way, the license is still valid? It has a 1 year expiration date.

    If it is expired, just go to Altair University and request the HW2020 student.

    Hi,

    First of all, open the license file in a notepad and check the expiry date. If it is already expired, kindly re-register here: https://studentedition.altair.com/

    If it is still not expired, do the following:

    Rename the license file to altair_lic.dat and place the same in the <installation directory>/security folder

     <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>image.png

    If you have already done the above and still face the error, Use windows folder options / view > display file name extensions, to make sure the file is named altair_lic.dat and not altair_lic.dat.dat,

    You need to confirm if the Ethernet address in the license file is the correct one and matches the one in your machine.

    When you open the license file in a text editor you will see an Ethernet address there in a line that says 'ETHERNET =

    The Ethernet ID is the ID of your machine which is exactly 12 hexadecimal numbers. For example D4WRF478F398

    Run ipconfig/all in command window and check for physical address under Ethernet adapter local area connection:

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>image.png

    The listed physical address under Ethernet adapter local area connection should be used to generate the license file, if there is no listing of Ethernet adapter local area connection, the address under Wireless Adapter LAN Wifi must be used.

    That means if the address provided as above does not match the one in the license file, please request for the license file again with the correct Ethernet ID here https://studentedition.altair.com/

    Thank you so much for your hints.

    I have just checked this .dat file and my license expired two months ago, that is, 1 year has already passed.

    I am gonna re-register again.

    Stay safe.
