Is it possible to perform an optimization (maximizing stiffness) for the thickness of a tubular section?
Hello, Kindly I would like to have some help or suggestion about the following:
I am designing a structural connection to be 3D printed, and I want to perform an optimization of the connection such that it is composed of circular hollow sections with varying thicknesses.
I attached a PDF in which I showed one part of the connection and the way I assigned the design spaces. Kindly I would like to have some help or suggestions about the procedure I followed, if it seems to be correct or not?

I didnt get it exactly what you need. But have you tried breaking the design space into multiple pieces, and assign to each of them, manufacturing constraints, such as extrusion or draw direction, for each tube, to be able to get a better control over your results.
Just an idea

Thank your for your reply.
I would like to achieve a certain final design that I have in mind, which consists of circular hollow sections. The thickness of these CHS varies according to the stresses on the connection. This connection will be 3D printed later. Is there a way to apply a constraint such that the final design satisfy the general shape that I have in mind?
I appreciate your help as I am new to this field.Thank you!
