Shear test
Hello team,
I am wondering how can create this model using Edem. I am going to compare between this model and the one which will be made from cylinders.
i tried to make a material block but the result was bad. By the way the walls are created from particles.
So i am looking for a convenient method enables me to create the model looks like the attached image

Hi Saeed,
The picture looks to me box shear test which is pretty doable in EDEM.
The only important factor is the box geometry dimensions and the kinematic definition.
If you know the above said data you can able to represent similar study in EDEM.
The cylinder test do you mean the Ring Shear test? if yes, then I would not suggest comparing the Ring shear test with the box shear test.
I would strongly suggest that the calibration should be the same as the physical test how performed.
Thanks,

Hi Prasad A,
Thank you for your answer.
Actually i am wondering if there is a tutorial enables me to do this shear test using Edem.
Because i don't know how to make the walls from particles, i followed the tutorial number 19 (meta particle) but that does not work for me at all.
The comparison will be between the sphere particle and cylinder particle under the direct shear.
