I was doing 3d meshing of bolted joint. So does contact creation guarantee mesh connectivity?
I wouldn't really say it creates mesh connectivity.
Based on the method you choose, it transfers displacement across the node and element pairs.
And you need to define the surfaces and tolerance to make sure those surfaces are linked
