Editing Load Application Region in Hypermesh

Hello,

I thought I had posted this question on the forum, but I am not able to find the thread. Apologies if the posting is redundant.

I had applied forces on nodes using 'On Free Edge' option. Now I need to edit the load application region.

As shown in the attachments below, the original load application region involves all the curves of I-beam C/S. I want to apply the load only on the web curve of the I-Beam. I tried changing the same using Analysis->Forces->Update and choose the displayed load/force.

The curve selector is being highlighted. However, I am not able to select any curves from the screen and when I click on the curve, I am taken to a page which contains blank screen.

Any suggestions on how I can edit load application region in Hypermesh?

Thx

The curve mentioned in this Force tab is Load curve (Load vs Time).

If you want to delete the loads you can use F2 --> loads and select nodal loads which you want to delete.

If curve is not available that means you have not assigned any curve to load. You would have applied load with constant vector. You can update load direction & dof easily.

Thx folks for the responses. I want to update the load application region without having to delete an existing load and create a new one. I will check out the options you folks have mentioned above in a while but going through the responses, it seems like currently there is no way to edit/update load application region in Hypermesh?

Refer attached video for updating load with constant vector.

    Rahul,

Thanks a ton for the video. The application region can be edited in Hypermesh, but only one 'load' at a time. I was selecting the entire displayed lot.

Last question, is there any utility or function to check the sum of external forces & moments in Hypermesh? Just to make sure that total load is correct before submitting for analysis?

You can update all load at a time. In video i covered only one load but it work for all load in one go.

For overall check use model checker.

    Hi,

There is utility to check sum of external forces & moments,

Please enter panel post>summary> click 'load', browse to ....\altair\14.0\templates\summary\optistruct

    select template file 'loads'
