Hello every expert

I want to simulate split magnet eddy current loss in Flux 3D, just like below photo.

My geometry file is exported from FluxMotor and whole entities is like below.

Currently magnet is no split, how can I just split magnet is 5 division ?

thank you

    Hi Hallay,

You can split the volume of Magnet into five by using the Cut object feature in the Modeler context.

Or, if you have your model parametrized, get one piece of Magnet and use repetition to get as many repetitions as you need.

This works for the axial split.

Is it radial split or axial split?

If it is radial, you must have separate planes defined and cut the magnet objects so that the volumes are oriented correctly.

    Thank you,

    Lavanya

    Hello Lavanya

    Thanks for your help.

Motor need axial split and your suggestion works.

Due to my Flux File is from FluxMotor.

When I cut object, it will cut everything.(core/magnet/shaft/air)

Is there a method that can just cut magnet?

    Best regard

There is a tool called separate volumes under Correct&Simplification < Separate Volumes.

Use this tool to separate the volumes of Magnets, Rotors, and Stators into their individual objects from the Cut Object created.

Then, use the Union feature under Tools < Union to create one object for each part (Rotor, Stator, Air) by combining all volumes.

After doing this, the objects will be assembled so there will be no intersections in the combined volumes and the separated columns.

With this, you will have separate volumes for Magnets and single volumes for Rotor, Stator, and Air.
