ERROR ID : 534 ** ERROR IN ELEMENT GROUP DESCRIPTION
Hi,
I am getting the following error in RADIOSS
ERROR ID : 534
** ERROR IN ELEMENT GROUP
DESCRIPTION :
-- SHELL GROUP ID : 959850376
-- SHELL GROUP TITLE :
GROUP IS EMPTY
When I see the set, there are no elements in that set. The reason is the old model had SHELL4N elements and I deleted the elements and created SHELL3N elements in the same component. Should I delete this empty set or add SHELL3N elements to this group again? Can someone pls explain what exactly the 'Sets' mean?

Hi Ushay,
This error is because the element group is empty. If this element group is not used you can delete the same, else add the elements to the group.
Set entities are used to define and store lists of entity IDs for a specific entity. Sets can be generated for nodes, elements, components ..etc which contain entity IDs for that specific entity.

Hi George, thank you!
I commented those lines so that the solver skips the code. Now there is obviously the error because of the other entities related to these

Hi Ushay,
I recommend you to create this interface again. Please run the model checker (Tools>Model Checker>RadiossBlock) which will list the modelling errors in the model so that this can be rectified.

Thanks George!
Could you please tell if one can build a model for explicit analysis without this 'Sets'? If you could share any link to particular topic that would be great. Thanks in advance

Hi Ushay,
Suppose you are creating an interface and for defining the master and slave you select the elements and nodes from the model. Once you select these a set is automatically created in the background and is added to 'Sets' in the model browser.
I recommend you to use 'Unused' and 'Empty' options from the Tools Menu, which will show the unused and empty parameters in the model, including sets and user can can delete the unused or empty sets from the model.
Please go through a webinar series on RADIOSS which covers all the theoretical and practical aspects: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CxM52wP3_ew&list=PLQ7KUGFuVz4u5y3SvIEIU07427-gATaG6
