How to fix error: Segmentation rules have been violated

Error Message:

The triangles 4753 and 382 touch, but they do not have a common edge.
ERROR 832: Segmentation rules have been violated (two triangles touch without a common edge)

How do I solve this error message? The mesh is automatically generated with the "fine" setting, except for a point refinement mesh which is specified at a certain location. I can't figure out why this error would occur if all of the mesh is automatically generated and the "CEM validate" feature returns no errors.

Thank you very much!

This error usually occurs when there are more than 1 part in the model and you have not made a Union of the parts.

It can also occur if you imported CAD and there are errors in the CAD causing a bad mesh.

You can view the triangle numbers and their locations in POSTFEKO under the Mesh tab -> Find Elements.
