Hi,

I am trying a nonlinear DTRAN load case in OptiStruct

Can you please share an example/Tutorial that effectively uses all the NLPARM parameters ?

I am confused with the NLPARM parameters and also with the NLOUT parameters , really finding hard to control the animation output time step.

Please do share me if any links / tutorials

    Thank you Prakash,

I ran the file you sent, in which

How do i get the animation results at required time frame . Say i need the results at 0.4 Sec ?

From  animation i got the results for 0.324 and .421 sec

    Karthik,

You need to try changing the NINT (number of intervals, trial and error). Right now there is no option to output results at a particular time step.

    Hi Prakash,

what about the NLPARMX option in NLPARM. Is it only for Static Analysis ?

can  DTA(Output time step for animation files) help?

I am trying out NLPARMX, but no impact on animation results

NLPARMX is for NLGEOM implicit. Are you using NLGEOM analysis type?

Instead you can try DT and TTERM on NLPARM. Check if this gives any good results.

    Thank you Prakash

I am doing nonlinear Direct Transient

Is it possible to continue the run in subcase2 ? including the effect of case 1

    Hi Prakash,

Thankyou for the help, i found the CATNLSUB in control card. How can i call it in the second sub case?

    Karthik,

To avoid confusion, you can create CNTNLSUB within subcase.

Edit the 2nd subcase and find the CNTNLSUB and refer the fist subcase in the same.

    Karthik,

It should be available in Nonlinear with DTRANS subcase. Click edit and should be able to see it.DTRANCNTNLSUB.PNG

    Hi karthik,

Looks like you are using Direct transient analysis type and not Nonlinear Direct transient analysis. This is added in 2017.
