Nonlinear Buckling

Hi,

Is it possible to do nonlinear buckling analysis in Optistruct?

 

I can see option of Linear buckling in Analysis type... but wat about nonlinear buckling?

    Hi,

    I think this is not there in optistruct. You need to move to radioss for it..

    I think even linear buckling factor is not possible in radioss... Pls help me with nonlinear buckling

    Hi,

    Linear buckling factor can be obtained in optistruct. 

    Radioss does not seem to have direct option for calculating buckling factor and calculation needs to be done using post-processing results I think.

    Can you provide more details regarding your problem statement?

    I need to find the  buckling load for a nonlinear geometric case.

    I tried Geometric nonlinear loadstep , but i  don't find loadstep for nonlinear buckling. Linear buckling is available

    Hi

    I think nonlinear buckling is nonlinear geometry loadstep.

    To find buckling load, increase it step by step, and observe bending stress value which starts to increase once structure reachs critical

    Hi Karthic,

    It is possible to perform non linear buckling in RADIOSS. Please find the attached tutorial for the same.

    You can address post buckling application using nonlinear geometry (Implicit) loadcase. You may have to use any of the Arc-Length methods to solve post-buckling analysis, attached is an example which illustrates the same.

    Hello Karthic,

    Did u find solution for nonlinear buckling analysis in radioss. I gone through above PDF, these are helpful to know which control card will be used in buckling analysis, but unable to perform simulation.

    If anyone know, please share with me. It will be much helpful.

    Plz help me to remove error.

     

    I understood many of cards used in tutorial even I also applied necessary card for implicit run, but every time got error.
