Did you try running this in latest version 2018 with 2018.0.1 patch. If possible please share .fem file.

I tried twice running in my laptop with OptiStruct latest version 2018.0.1.Unfortunately in both the attempt I had to kill the run because of time constraint.
Mumps solver get invoked by default when we define friction in the contact card.
Can you give a try by running original shared file in latest version 2018.0.1.
