Thick shell

Hi,

How to create thick shell element & property?

 

I created solid elements, assigned P20TSHELL(PROP/TSHELL) property . But i am getting error

 

ERROR ID :           78
** ERROR : UNDEFINED NODE NUMBER
DESCRIPTION :  
   IN 3D SOLID ELEMENTS DEFINITION NUMBER : 2085
   NODE ID=4672 DOES NOT EXIST

ERROR ID :           78

Please suggest me how to solve the issue

    Hi Karthic,

    Are you using second order elements?. If so, change to first order and try running.

    Please go through Example 37 - Analytical Beam in the Help Menu where thick shell formulation is used.

    Hi George,

    The example you sent is working fine with thichshell.

     

    But my case is bit different, has contact and a layer of thick shell over the solid element.

    I  am still getting the same error. I have attached the RAD and out file for your ref.

    Please go through and correct me.

    Hi Karthic,

    This error is due to the /INTER/LAGMUL/TYPE16 in the model. Please check the interfaces defined in the model.

    There are many modelling errors also. Please see the image attached. I recommend you to rebuild the model.
