Hi,

I read the below two statements from help

1.The truss is activated only if:

The current distance between truss nodes is smaller than the initial length minus Gapini.

2.

Gapini should be Gapini >  0. Negative Gapini will be treated as 0. The truss will not be activated in tensile

So my question is Truss can have only compressive load/ force?

what about the tensile, shear load in Truss??

    Hi Karthic,

Truss elements are a subset of beam elements which have no bending degrees of freedom. Truss elements transmit force axially only. That is, these elements allow translation movement only and not rotation. Truss elements are normally used in conditions where no bending is expected.

Please go through truss elementys in the RADIOSS Theory Manual where the formulations are well explained.
