A question about Fluent-EDEM one-way coupling

Hi,

I have a question about Fluent-EDEM one-way coupling in an unsteady simulation. Are the positions of the particles by EDEM are calculated during the unsteady solution in Fluent, or first Fluent performs the simulations, saves the data with some time intervals (like 0.01 seconds) for some time (like 10 seconds) and then EDEM reads the data for each to do its calculations? Thank you.

    Hi Mahdi

For a one-way coupling, EDEM and Fluent runs parallelly with the updated Fluent information being sent to EDEM after every Fluent timestep. There is no update of the fluid field with any changes in the particle positions. The fluid field change will solely be based on the boundary conditions that you have set for the CFD part.

    Thanks,
