Stress Linearization

In the output window of the linearization tool "peak at entry" is listed what exactly is this? i assumed it was the the peak stress at the entry to the linearization path ie the stress at the node you peak first? but this doesn't correspond

using the tutorial example the peak stress is 145.5 MPA but the output window shows the "peak at entry" = 14.48?

Hi Andrew,

The entry and exit values of stresses (σiS and σiE) are the components of stress along local coordinate system of stress linearization segment. In the attached picture, the max value you see on the contour plot belongs to vonMises stress, this is not the one to be used in peak stress formula.

To verify the values - you can take a simple case of stress linearization segment along global X,Y or Z, use pick info tool to obtain the stress values at entry/exit to use them in the peak stress formula.
