What is the difference between a non-linear analysis done in Optistruct and Radioss?

    Hi Karth,

     

    the basic difference between Non-linear analysis in OptiStruct and Radioss is: OptiStruct is used for nonlinear implicit (like bolt pretension, plate contact with large strain/stress/displacement ...) and Radioss is used for nonlinear explicit (like crash, impact...)

    So You should estimate your result to decide which you should use, If it's just a structure analysis, use OptiStrcut. If something is going to broke, crash... use Radioss.

    Radioss also has solution for implicit problem too but OptiStruct handles it much better and easier to use, in my opinion
