Can shape optimization be used for reducing the overall thickness of a component.
Tutorial OS-5060 deals with only shape modification to reduce stress.
Any other tutorials available in this regard to optimize thickness?

Would you suggest any other from shape optimization.
You can use morphing tools to alter thickness for solid component & create multiple shape variable for given loading condition for shape optimization.
