Lattice Optimization of selected areas in a Polynurbs part.

Hello everyone,

I´m currently working on the remodeling of a topology optimized Part with Polynurbs (wrapping tool). Afterwards I did a FEM-Analysis and detected some areas with really low stresses. I would like to integrate some lattice structures with the Lattice Optimization.

the challenge is now to seperate the areas with low stresses from the polynurbsstructure to create new Designspaces. The way I'm doing that right now is over "Partition". Today I found a video on youtube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z5iAWjXDRCY&list=FLaVj_FOaJaAp_ip5CiXqDQQ&index=1), see from 1:02 min. There are really nice Designspaces seperated from the Polynurbs part and it doesn't look like they used the Partition-tool on the part in the video.

This is what it looks like after the lattice Optimization:

Does anybody now how to create these Designspaces within a Polynurbs part?

Best Regards

MJ

    Hello Mj,

For this purpose, you can use sketch then project and split option from Inspire to create nicely separated portions on your PolyNURBS for further lattice optimization. See attached images.
