scripts
In AcuConsole, one could define scripts for various quantities like in the attached.
Is there an equivalent capability in Hypermesh/Acusolve or HWX-CFD?

You could either use HyperWorks CFD or SimLab (preferred) as the preprocessor for AcuSolve
It is possible to define volume wise Nodal IC in SimLab or HWCFD, without a need for any script.
e.g. this tutorial has NIC (in either SL or HWCFD).
ACU-T: 4000 Dam Break Simulation (altair.com)
Please do not use HyperMesh (classic interface), as it is not being developed anymore.

Many thanks, ydigit
May I ask, what are the SimLab features that makes it preferred as an AcuSolve preprocessor? Does it allow building a model by parts unlike HWCFD? And is it not likely to go the way of the dodo as I understand HM classic is going?
(I've always fallen back on HM/Acusolve when HWCFD didn't do the job and now I seem to have to make a decision what to use next)
Thanks again

SimLab support since 2019 has continually improved.
it supports building model part by part and includes part replacement as well. It is the new Swiss knife, as it’s a multiphysics platform. Many people in CFD want not just cfd but more, like mapping, cosim… bHM classic is kind of retired product. If you read the release notes for 2022.x you’ll observe that most new AcuSolve features have been implemented only in SL and not HWCFD. Hope it makes it clear and obvious regarding the choice of Pre.
