Extruding 2D mesh in hypermesh 2023

I am having trouble locating or searching for the drag feature in Hypermesh 2023, to extrude a 2D mesh into 3D. Also, I seem to have made all my elements hide from view and cannot get them to show again. They are still there somewhere as I can see the element count on screen. Any help would be appreciated

    Hello @Sunil Chadha ,

Extrusion of 2D elements for generating 3D elements should not be needed anymore in 2023, as we introduced a couple of versions ago a new feature called Thin Solid:

Regarding your hidden elements, you can switch idle mode (selector top left in the graphic area) to Elements, then right click -> Show (or Shortcut "A"). Does that help to retrieve them?

    Best Regards,

    Michael

    Hello Michael,

I have tried using the thin solid tool but it does not produce a useful mesh, the best way would be for me to drag this mesh. Is this feature still available within hypermesh 2023?

Thankyou for the suggestion, when I retrieved the session they were all displayed again.

    Hello @Sunil Chadha ,

may I ask you some details about what is not satisfying in the current thibn solid implementation. Such feedback are importqnt for us, ibn order to enhance HyperMesh.

That said, to drag 2D elements, you can go to Topology -> Offset and you will be able to extrude your 2D mesh

    Hope that helps,

    Regards,

    Michael

This is the outcome of the thin solid tool

The extrude feature is not giving a great mesh either to be honest.

    Hello Michael

I have managed to get an extrude function to work as I would like, I am creating this mesh for Ansys CFX and cannot see how I can create the named selections in the new 2023 interface.

    hello @Sunil Chadha ,

what are you referring to when speaking about named selections?

Do you have examples from former versions?

    Best Regards,

    Michael

    Hello Micheal,

In previous versions it was analysis settings -> entity sets.
