Why Hyperworks does not visualize a .step part together with a .fem model?

Hi everyone, I'm new in using Hyperworks Optistruct and I have some issues importing a .fem file and a .step file together in a session. In practice, after using the function "import Solver Deck" to import .fem file, I use the function "import Geometry" to import .step file but what happens is that suddenly the fem model is zoomed out but the step part doesn't appear although in the "Model view" it seems to be imported. Can someone tell me where is the problem? Thank you in advance.

Hi, thank you for your answer. I think they have comparable dimensions because I also imported them in Inspire and they are both visible and with similar dimensions, but I need to use Hyperworks.

    Hi Serena,

depending on your defaults for geometry import, HW can scale up your geometry model, as Marine has suggested.

So please make sure HW is not importing your model and scaling it, under the import advanced options.

    Hello,

It is possible that the siez of your files are not the same (one more bigger than the other). Can you check system units for both models?

Thank you both! The problem was actually in the scale. Now I have a doubt: I'd like to perform an optimization on my model but it is composed by three different parts (two of them are pshell -from the .fem file- and one psolid -from the .step file). Is it already possible to perform the analysis or is it necessary to connect somehow the three parts to make them one only model? And in the latter case, how? Thank you, greetings.
