How to setup topology analysis to meet response frequency requirement
Hello,
I am new to hypermesh and want to use topology analysis to minimize part's volume and also meet 1st response frequency requirement.
I go through some case study online but still not clear about how to setup for these constricts.
Could anyone help explain on this or provide me some online training material for this type of simulation?
Thanks.

You can create topology design variable with min vol or mass and have constraint on freq for mode 1.
This tutorial does exactly what you asked for.

Thanks a lot.
May I ask that as I have constraint on freq for mode 1, is it better that I only set mode analysis for 1st mode only or I should set mode analysis for few modes and tracking the 1st mode?

Hi,
it depends:
-if the structure can be subjected to loading in any direction which may cause resonance, then constraining frequency of the lowest mode will produce the most robust structure against resonance in any direction.
-if the structure can be subjected to loading only in a specific direction then the mode number that is excited by this loading has to be identified and this mode should be tracked (as mode order can shift) during optimization.
In the following tutorial mode tracking is used:
