Fluxmotor plots

Hi, I am trying to design an electric motor for a car with using Fluxmotor.

When I am done running the simulation, I get the Torque speed plot.

I would like to know if that plot is always the maximum torque and if there is a way to show also the continuous torque, since I want to know both.

I am a bit lost and some help would be much appreciated

Hello Alvaro;

First of all, we do have some online training, you may have a look on them, so you can participate one one of them.

To answer you question, when you use a sine wave test, you will have the enveloppe of the performances, and the efficiency mapp which is actually all the working points that your machine can deliver with the maximum voltag, maximum current, MTPV or MPTA command.

Each point of this efficiency mapp is actually in steady state and using and ideal supply which sine wave shape voltage.

That helped me but I still have many questions about this topic since I am really an amateur when it comes to electric motors.

So the motor curve here for example,

That is the maximum torque I can get in a steady state right?

But how can I know the maximum torque my motor can reach during just a few seconds ?

Usually when I have a torque-speerd curve I get 2 graphs, the steady state torque and the maximum torque and the area between those is the intermittent area.

But in the one flux gives me there is only one area.

Also, is there a way to show also the field weakening? to see what speed I could reach ?

PS: Is there a way I could have a conversation with somebody from Altair about the fluxmotor software ? I have watched the tutorials but there is really not a lot explained in those

You are welcome! please find bellow the answers to your questions:

==> Yes, it is for the settings you put.

==> This a transient computation, you should export the project to Flux 2D, and replace the current sources by the voltage sources, and then you can have the transient stage. You can see the transient behavior for the torque and the current as well.

==> The picture corresponds to the enveloppe of map, each point of this curve correspond to the maximum torque you can have for the corresponding speed, and the test settings you put.
