No change in mass after size optimization

Hello everyone,

 

I am running a size optimization as I normally do. However, this time, mass (which is my objective) is not being changed and the optimization ends in the first iteration.

 

Does anyone know what could be the issue here?

    Hi @Joao 

     

    can you share your .out file and give some more details on what are your trying to optimize?

    Does your objective function change with the change in the design variables?

    Hi Adriano,

     

    I actually solved the problem, but I am not 100% sure why. I am optimizing a composite structure, thus, considering the MAT8 card for orthotropic material properties. I noticed that I had not included the G12 material property. So after including it, mass minimization is working perfectly.
