Multiscale Designer Question
Apologies for posting this here (I didn't see a forum for it... if there is one, please direct me to it and I will delete).
I'm trying to load a custom unit cell in Multiscale Designer and I keep getting the following error:
The file is pretty large (750 MB). Could that be a reason?

Hi ,
usually these errors are related to the requirements on the external unit cell.
Can you check if your unit cell meet all the requirements, please?

Thanks for the help. I played with it a little more and discovered the the problem was two-fold. I did not need grid points in my model, so I did not have any within it. I placed a singular grid point at 0,0,0 and that did the trick for me. I do have a follow up question, however. I've looked through the manual but I can't really find a reference for error codes or anything like that. I consistently keep getting warnings that MSD "may not have correct permissions" but I'm not working in Program Files and I'm running MSD as an administrator. The real problem are the last two lines:
"The following ERROR was detected: -9
Number of zero or negative pivots: 0"
Could you expand on what is meant by this and how to correct it? All I am trying to do is obtain a homogenized thermal conductivity of the material.0 -

Are you sure that you have access to this folder?

Thanks for the reply!
The material model directory is set to the same filepath, but ends at MSD Models. For example, it is
C:\Users\Aaron\Documents\XXXXX\Hypermesh\MSD Models\
And the filepath that MSD is trying to pull these files from is in
C:\Users\Aaron\Documents\XXXXX\Hypermesh\MSD Models\ZT-CFRP\Mechanical
Additionally, MSD should have permissions to work in this folder. I don't have a problem saving anything else in it. And I've been working out of this folder for a few months. Hypermesh also saves to this filepath0
