Hello,

i was trying to run my first composite freesize optimization with the support of this Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6PJeW3cVpsM&t=1186s

In the results is just one constant thickness and now I am wondering what I am doing wrong? (Model is attachted)

Thank You!

    Hi,

    check your optimization formulation.

    You have requested:

    Minimize Compliance (meaning Maximize Stiffness)

as you don't have any constraints (neither deisgn constraints, neither manufacturing constraints), the trivial solution is a full plate with all material possible.

Usually if you're using min Compliance, it goes with a volume fraction constraint, forcing/limiting maximum amount of material.

If you take a look at your .out file, it probably shows you this behavior.
