Import model into abaqus
Hello, they asked me to create a project for a studio. I have to hypermesh the mesh of my model and then I was told to import the mesh into Abaqus for static nonlinear analysis. I created my mesh correcting all the errors I had but now I have a problem. Can I import my model into abaqus to add forces and constraints and then do the required analysis? Can you explain to me better? Thank you very much!

This is intended to be a OptiStruct forum..not Abaqus. /emoticons/default_biggrin.png' srcset='/emoticons/biggrin@2x.png 2x' title=':D' width='20' />
Anyway, in HM you are able to set all your model to the end and export and run in Abaqus later.
I'm not super familiar to abaqus, but i believe you just need to export your mesh in .inp file in Abaqus user profile and then import this mesh in Abaqus and get it finished there.
My suggestion is searching for the steps at Google or youtube. I'm pretty sure there are some instructions for 'importing external model to Abaqus'.
Hope this helps.

Ops! Sorry about the topic! I have already searched on google and seen many videos on youtube but unfortunately they did not help me. That's why I asked you. I set the commands for abaqus from my preferences but I can't use the export command.

In Abaqus you will import your model from HM. Don't forget to assign material and properties.

Thank you so much for the information and for your help! You were really nice. I'm going to study all the materials you sent me.

Hey Antonio,
Normally, I export the inp file (only the mesh) and I set up everything in Abaqus.

For me I set up EVERYTHING in Hypermesh for Abaqus /emoticons/default_smile.png' srcset='/emoticons/smile@2x.png 2x' title=':)' width='20' />

I managed to import into abaqus with the .inp format. Now can I apply loads and constraints directly in abaqus using only the imported mesh? Because the tutorials I've seen start with a geometry (step) and then come to analysis.

Antonio,
this is an OptiStruct forum.
You should ask OptiStruct questions, don't you agree?
Like mentioned above, if you're using HyperMesh to build your model, then you coild build the whole model in HM and export it to Abaqus, including the loads ans bcs.
If I'm not wrong, there are tutorials in HM help for setting abaqus models.
Also I believe you might find some videos in YouTube for all of this.
