Symmetric laminate
I want to do a free size optimization by considering the laminate as symmetric. Should I do that by specifying symmetric option under laminate panel instead of smear? In that case i only define half of the plies. Is this the right way to obtain symmetric laminate at the end of shuffling optimization?
I also heard that there is an option under size optimization called 1-ply symmetry. Is that used for defining symmetric laminate? if yes then how does this option is used? any example or details about it?
Can I run the free size optimization as smear and then at the shuffling step end up with a symmetric laminate?
What is the best approach to achieve a symmetric laminate at the end ?

Repeat Laminate is supported from 2017.2.2.PFA fem deck for repeat laminate for composite analysis.

Thanks but how is it different from the Symmetry option in Laminate panel?
