HyperWorks 2021/HyperWorks X 2019 runs very slow or freeze
Hello,
I'm trying out HyperWorks for the first time, and the software runs very slow. The screen keeps freezing when I pan/zoom/rotate the imported geometry. I have imported the same geometry directly in HyperMesh and there it works just fine.
I have set my graphics options to "High Performance".
Have anyone else experience similar issues? What to do?

Yes the new interface is much more resource intense, intended for the latest and greatest systems. I would make sure system software/drivers are up to date especial your graphics card and consider upgrading hardware if that doesn't help.

How about your hardware: CPU? Ram? GPU?

Although, unfortunately, HyperWorks has gone from the fastest to the slowest FEA prepost in the past few years, it should not normally run as slow as you are describing.
In addition to the already suggested check to update drivers, you may also try turning off some of the settings that can affect graphics performance like antialiasing and transparent highlighting.
Normally I'd also suggest trying to turn off anything like loads, element/load handles, etc. but you mention that it is slow on imported geometry? Maybe try importing the geometry such that it does not create a lot of parts or a deep assembly?

Hello,
Thanks for the response. It turned out to be driver issues that caused the extreme issues. The performance is still quite erratic though, with random crashes and for certain operation slow performance. It is manageable though.
