I'm studying the brake disc thermals of a competition car for a college extension project. I manage to put the disk to rotate and the insert to close it but when I put it to study the thermal everything is getting zero kelnvin, does anyone know how to help me?

    Hello, Gabriel.

Is it possible to share the model? Without looking is hard to say what might be going on.

    Best regards.

    Hello, Gabriel.

There are several aspects to be corrected in your model.

You haven't defined the heat exchange parameters in the contact interface, you need to make Ithe=1 and define the heat exchange parameters.

There is a public model on Altair Radioss documentation that sets up a simulation exactly like this one. I would recommend you refer to it. Altair Brake

Your imposed displacement is not being applied properly. You are applying it to all brake pad nodes and not including the rigid body main node, while you should apply it only to the rigid body main node as you did for the CLOAD. The same thing for your BCS. I think you should remove your imposed displacement and use only CLOAD.

I would also recommend you change the properties definitions to the recommended values on this presentation Modeling best practices

Finally, it seems to me that you are using Mg, mm, s as a unit system, if yes, maybe your run time is too high (10 seconds), and your velocity is too low (0.4 rad/s), need to check your model units.

This month we will have an online Radioss training session from 24 to 27th. You can register for it here. Training

See if after that you can get the expected results.

Could you build this model for me, I don't know what I should add. I will not use your work, this is just a study to put into practice at the end.

...What would these heat exchange parameters be that I should add.

...I don't understand the displacement part. I cannot remove it, this movement is necessary.

...regarding the properties what should i modify

...As it is still a study the rpm is low just for study.

I need to present this disk correctly to analyze the maximum temperature it can reach
